Coach Stimmell played college baseball for Rich Herman at Clarion University of Pennsylvania.  He was a team captain in 94 and 95.  He played outfield, designated hitter and pitched in relief for the Golden Eagles.  He garnered All-PSAC honors in 95 as a utility player.

Expectations for 2006:  Coach Stimmell is very excited about Riverbend's second season.  Every starter from a year ago will return.  He is also excited about some of the new faces that will be joining the program.  "I am so pleased with the commitment our players have made to work to get better in the off season.  If we continue to work this hard I feel we can be competitive with anyone in the Battlefield District."

Name: Josh Johnson

Position: Varsity Assistant (Pitcher and Catcher Responsibilities)

My experience with the RHS Baseball Program has been great.  We might not have won as many games in the inaugural season as I might have hoped, but the experience and the invaluable lessons I learned as a coach will help make this program better in the future.  I find the guys to be hardworking and fun to be around.  The know the game of baseball can be humbling if you do not put forth the effort.  I completely enjoyed working with the pitchers and catchers, as well as calling the pitches on game days.

Expectations for 2006: We are still in the process of developing not just a team, but a program.  I feel the future is looking bright and this years team will have a strong core of young players eager to become champions.  I fully expect this years team to be in every ball game. We will better on the field, and compete hard to become the best.  We must think everything through and be aggressive, while playing percentage baseball.  Let's get after it!

Name:  Brian Bartoszek

Position: JV Pitching Coach

I am currently in my first year as a counselor in Virginia at Riverbend High School.  I recently graduated from college and graduate school in New York where I played baseball at St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY as a pitcher.  This is my first year as a coach as well.

Expectations for 2006:  I have been involved in the off-season weight training program for the varsity baseball team and am truly excited for the Spring season.  I am encouraged to see the dedication and commitment put forth by many of the players by the amount of hours spent in the weight room.  I look forward to continuing our off-season training and to working on developing out pitchers.  I expect big things out of both the varsity and junior varsity teams this year in their second season and to the continual growth in our baseball program.
