Senior Dustin Sparks allowed only two hits over 5 innings and the Riverbend bats came back to life as, the Bears improve to 4-2 on the season. Second baseman Derek Gallello went 3 for 3 to lead all hitters. Sam Watts added two doubles and 3 RBI's. Donald Sherman and Nick Gianforte also added two hits for Riverbend. Riverbend (4-2) and (2-1) in the Commonwealth will take a few day off over spring break and then be back in action Saturday, April 10th for the Bash at the Bend.
Riverbend 15 Caroline 5- Riverbend opened the regular season Wednesday night with a non-district win against the Caroline Cavaliers. Andy Moranville started on the bump going 3.1 innings striking out 8. Garrett Rioux led all hitters going 3-3 and had 5 RBI's. The Bears are back in action Saturday March 20th for their home opener. They play Kettle Run at 11:00 and Manchester at 5:00. Manchester and Kettle Run will square off at 2:00 PM.
The 2010 Varsity team recently escaped the snow with a trip to North Carolina. They got some much needed time on a field rather than a gym floor and played pretty well in their scrimmage against First Flight High School.

2010 Tryouts - Monday thru Wednesday February 22-24. Tryouts will run from 2:30 - 5:00 meeting at the field weather permitting. In case of inclement weather location to be determined. You must have a complete VHSL physical on file with Mr. Lancaster and meet all academic eligibility standards.
